This Thursday (1 November 2018) there is a demonstration from 6pm in Seven Sisters, which is very important to the campaign to save the market there. https://www.facebook.com/events/259082944794016/
The market is currently facing compulsory purchase and demolition to make way for luxury flats. Consequently, the traders have endured over a decade of managed decline, bullying and racist abuse by market managers Quarterbridge.
However, this demonstration is the first step in a community plan being developed, which intends to buy back the entire building and place it under common ownership, run for the benefit of all.
We will meet outside the market at six - directly opposite Seven Sisters Underground - then march up to a meeting between the council and the developers at seven to tell them our communities are not their assets!
Please spread the word and we hope to see you there!
