The selection of a majority of Labour Party Council Candidates who oppose the HDV for the May Elections in 2018 means that the current Labour Administration has no mandate to proceed with the HDV. Northumberland Park Residents question Council proposals at Q&A session 16 November

Residents of Northumberland Park estate and surrounding areas came to discuss the Council’s demolition proposals for their estate with StopHDV and Defend Council Housing activists, a Councillor and others. Among the issues discussed were tenant and leaseholder rights, the legal case against the HDV, the “right to return”, the nature of Lendlease as a developer, questions to be put to councillors, the Residents Association, what is happening in the Labour Party to deselect pro-HDV councillors, the need for consultation followed by a ballot on the scheme and other concerns.

Labour Party Council Candidate shortlisting & selection results

The Labour Parties in Hornsey & Wood Green and Tottenham are selecting their candidates for next May’s Council elections. Opponents of the HDV have displaced the Chief Whip and other pro-HDV councillors. The outcome could dramatically alter the balance of support for the HDV on the Council after next May. Judicial review against Haringey Council - High Court 25/26 October

The Judicial Review on the Haringey Development Vehicle takes place in the High Court , Royal Courts of Justice, The Strand, London WC2A 2LL on 25 and 26 October, we hope supporters can come and join us in demonstrating support from 9 to 10 am particularly on the first day 25 October. There will also be some public seating from 10 am.

The challenge is to Haringey Council setting up a supposedly 50/50 partnership with the Australian multi-national corporation, Lendlease,
